","hide_hero_image":false},"helper_people_group":{"title":"Authors","entities":[{"type":"dynamic","dynamic_person":{"site":79,"people":"1716"},"information":{"name":"","image":null,"role":"","biography":"","contact":{"twitter":"","facebook":"","email":"","phone":""}}}]},"page_layout":[{"acf_fc_layout":"layout_wysiwyg","_acfe_flexible_toggle":"","component_wysiwyg":{"content":"<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Sept. 15, the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) officially kicked off their process of reviewing the ozone State Implementation Plan (SIP) to meet the EPA air quality standards for the Denver Metro\/North Front Range nonattainment area.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) created the plan and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.pirg-test.com\/colorado\/media-center\/statement-states-ozone-plan-needs-more-pollution-reduction-measures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">approved it on August 5, 2022<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0before sending it off to the AQCC. The region has been out of attainment for ozone pollution for years and previous SIPs have failed to bring ozone pollution down enough to meet the EPA healthy air requirements.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The commission will solicit feedback from the public between now and December, when they\u2019re expected to issue their approval of a plan before it\u2019s submitted to the EPA.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoPIRG Foundation is calling on the public to <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.pirg-test.com\/colorado\/foundation\/take-action\/strengthen-the-states-plan-to-clean-up-our-air-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>show their support<\/strong><\/a> for strengthening the SIP and attending the public hearing on December 13. <a
