CoPIRG and partners launch the Alliance to Transform Transportation

CoPIRG is joining nine other organizations in launching the Alliance to Transform Transportation. Our goal is to significantly expand funding for travel options, with a focus on more frequent and reliable bus and train service. We will work to secure funding by stopping highway expansions and reinvesting those dollars into better travel options, as well as securing new dollars on a local and state level.

Bigger increases and improvements in our transit system are critical to reduce air pollution, tackle climate change, save lives, increase affordability, and expand access to opportunities including work and education.

We are currently focused on the Denver metro region because it is the population center and makes up a significant part of the overall transportation system in the state.
